About
A Somaliland minerals company, built on local standing
Golis Minerals connects Somaliland's mineral potential to the buyers and capital that can develop it — using relationships we have on the ground, not from an office abroad.
Why we set this up
Somaliland has real mineral potential — gold and gemstone belts in the north, large industrial-mineral deposits near the Berbera corridor — and a working mining code. What has been missing is a local partner who can join that supply to international buyers and capital, and handle the government and community side.
That is what Golis Minerals does. We source minerals against a buyer's spec, we originate and de-risk projects and take them into joint ventures, and we advise companies working here.
On advisory work we charge a fee. On projects we develop, we co-invest through the JV — so our return depends on the project working, not on making an introduction.
We are not geologists. Technical work — mapping, sampling, assays, feasibility — is commissioned to independent geologists and accredited labs we bring in and manage, to JORC, NI 43-101 and IFC Performance Standard practice.
Government & community access
Standing relationships across Somaliland government and local leadership — the access that licensing, land and local buy-in depend on.
End to end — ground to port
We cover the whole chain: finding supply, proving it, permitting it, and shipping it from Berbera.
Aligned through JV
On projects we develop, we co-invest. Our return depends on the project working — not on a fee for the introduction.
Local team, recognised standards
