Golis Minerals connects Somaliland's mineral potential to the buyers and capital that can develop it — using relationships we have on the ground, with a partner in Canada to reach investors abroad.
Why we set this up
Somaliland has real mineral potential — gold, gemstone and lithium-bearing pegmatite belts in the north, large industrial-mineral deposits near the Berbera corridor — and a working mining code. What has been missing is a local partner who can connect licensed ground to international investors and buyers, and handle the government and community side.
That is what Golis Minerals is building: we originate and screen mineral opportunities in Somaliland and partner the strongest, we provide field services for teams working in Somaliland, and we source Somaliland minerals against a buyer's spec.
Every engagement starts with terms in writing — scope, fees, confidentiality and non-circumvention — before any work or introduction is made.
We are not geologists. Technical work — mapping, sampling, assays, feasibility — is commissioned to independent geologists and accredited labs we bring in and oversee. Qualified professionals choose the right standard for each project.
Based in Somaliland
Our operations founder lives and works in Hargeisa and travels to the sites. Field visits, meetings and logistics are run by people who know Somaliland.

A founder in Canada works with exploration companies, technical professionals and investors in Canada and internationally.

We are not geologists. Technical conclusions come from qualified independent professionals and accredited laboratories.

Every lot is lab-tested, its origin and licence checked, and its export documented through proper channels. For gold we work to the OECD due-diligence guidance that buyers and refiners expect.
